For employers
When job seekers cannot tell who hires fairly, they screen themselves out before they ever apply. A listing in the register tells them where a record is not an automatic no.
The register reaches reentry counselors, probation officers, and prison consultants, the people who steer applicants toward specific employers. A verified record gives them something to cite.
A listing is a record, not an advertisement. It carries a permanent record number, a verification date, and your hiring policy stated as prose. There is no charge, and no paid tier exists, not now, not later.
Three things, minimum: a real website, a named submitter authorized to represent the company, and at least one concrete hiring practice, no conviction question on the application, individualized assessment, active recruiting from reentry programs, or similar. A company that just says "we're open-minded" does not get in.
Listings are US-only. Staffing agencies and temp firms are accepted and flagged as a distinct category, so job seekers know what they are applying to.
The full standards, verification, corrections, removal, are on the standards page.
Your domain. Either a DNS record at your company's domain or a confirmation click from an email at that domain. Verified records show the date we last read the source. A listing we have not been able to confirm says so plainly, rather than borrowing the word "verified."
Annually, after that. We ask you to re-confirm the listing once a year. If we cannot re-confirm it, the record is marked and eventually unpublished, see standards.
Your badge. Participating employers display the badge on their careers page. It links back to the record, which confirms the listing is live somewhere real.
A person reviews every submission before anything publishes. If something is missing or does not meet the bar, we tell you what and give you a chance to fix it.
On publish, your record gets a permanent record number, the badge kit goes to the submitter by email, and the record goes live in the directory.
Propose changes to your listing at any time. Proposed changes are reviewed before they touch the live record, so what job seekers see is always what was confirmed.
Changes to your company name, website, or hiring policy always go through review. Those are the fields job seekers rely on.
Hire people with records?
Say so on the record. Listing is free, forever, and reviewed by a person before it publishes.
