Private employers There is no statewide ban the box for private or public hiring. Many HR guides say an Arkansas executive order banned the box in 2016; the order they cite funds two county bridge replacements and has nothing to do with hiring. Sealing is the real route, and it is a strong one: once a record is sealed the conduct is treated as a matter of law as never having occurred, and you may state that it did not occur and that no sealed record exists.
