Alaska has no state law limiting when a private employer can ask about your record.
Private employers A private employer in Alaska can ask on the application and decide however they want, and a criminal record is not a protected class under state law. Alaska is the hardest state in the country to clear a record in: the Department of Public Safety says plainly that Alaska has no law to expunge criminal history, and sealing requires you to show mistaken identity or a false accusation in writing. Barring a suspended imposition of sentence that gets set aside, an adult conviction is permanent, so federal law is your only floor: a copy of the report and a chance to dispute it before you are turned down.
